§ 19-21. Construction procedures for driveways to facilitate construction of roadside culverts.

Latest version.
  • No concrete pavement shall be poured over a roadside culvert unless provision is made for a dividing line or joint separating the driveway from the portion of the concrete to be poured within the road or joint right-of-way. Such division may constitute a simple expansion joint of not less than one-half (½) inch in minimum width. The purpose of the dividing line or expansion joint is to permit the parish, when necessary, to break up that portion of the concrete over the roadside culverts to minimize damage to the driveway as well as reduce the cost to repair concrete paved driveways. In order to facilitate such purpose, the expansion joint or dividing line shall be situated a distance of not less than twenty (20) inches from the culvert in the roadside ditch.
